In normal operation, the Power, Fibre, Internet, and Wi-Fi LEDs are all steady white. This means the Fibre Box is connected to the fibre network, internet access is available, and Wi-Fi is on.
If you don't have access to the internet, please check the following:
First installation?
Is your line active? Did you receive the email confirming activation of your service and the plug number where to connect the fibre cable?
You can also check the activation status of your line in My Account.
Moved recently?
After a move, resetting the Fibre Box is mandatory to bring it online at the new location.
Check the LED status
Power, Fibre, and Internet LEDs should be steady on. LED statuses are described in the previous section.
- Power off: check the power cable and power source. Try another power outlet.
- Fibre off or blinking: there is no fibre signal. Ensure you are connected to the correct plug on the OTO socket — the plug number was sent to you in the activation email. Check that the fibre cable is correctly plugged into the OTO socket and into the back of the box, and that the protective cap has been removed from the cable.
- Internet LED off or blinking: try rebooting the box. Unplug the power cable for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Wait until the box has fully restarted (2–3 minutes).
If rebooting does not resolve the issue, reset the box: press the reset button (on the back of the Fibre Box, next to the power cable) with a paperclip or similar pointed object for 10 seconds. Wait until the box has fully restarted (2–3 minutes).
If these steps do not restore internet access, please call us on 0800 701 801.
Check the Wi-Fi status on your Fibre Box
Is the Wi-Fi on?
The Wi-Fi LED should be on. If the Wi-Fi is off, press the Wi-Fi button for 2 seconds; the symbol will light up.
The Fibre and Internet LEDs should also be on; if not, please check the previous section.
Is your device connected to the box's Wi-Fi?
Check the list of Wi-Fi networks on your device and ensure you are connected to the Fibre Box Wi-Fi.
The Wi-Fi symbol should be visible and active at the top of your device's screen.
The Fibre Box Wi-Fi name and password are printed on the Wi-Fi card provided inside the box. You can scan the QR code with your device's camera to connect directly.

Several factors can affect your Wi-Fi speed and coverage at home.
Interference and poor coverage
Your Wi-Fi signal can be weakened by the location of your Fibre Box. If it is installed in an inappropriate place — for example, inside a cabinet, next to a TV, or near a metal heater — this can cause interference and reduce the Wi-Fi signal. For best performance, place your Fibre Box in an open area, away from metal objects, electronic devices, and enclosed spaces.
The distance between the Fibre Box and your device also affects Wi-Fi speed: the greater the distance, the lower the throughput. We therefore recommend installing the box where it provides the best coverage for your home. If the distance is too great, a Wi-Fi Repeater is highly recommended to maintain a strong, stable connection.
Multi-band Wi-Fi technology (Band Steering)
Your Fibre Box uses multi-band Wi-Fi technology. With Wi-Fi 7, it can automatically switch between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands — a feature known as Band Steering. The box, or your device, automatically selects the most suitable band based on signal strength and distance. The 2.4 GHz band offers longer range but lower speed, while the 5 GHz band offers higher speed but shorter range.
Extending your Wi-Fi coverage
If you live in a larger home or apartment, a single Fibre Box may not be enough to cover the entire space. In this case, we recommend extending your Wi-Fi coverage with a Wi-Fi Repeater. This helps eliminate dead zones and ensures a stable connection throughout your home.
You can order a Wi-Fi Repeater directly from My Account.
A Wi-Fi connection that repeatedly drops is most often caused by insufficient Wi-Fi coverage.
Check the location of your Fibre Box
Try moving the box to a better location, with clear, open space around it. Avoid placing it inside a cabinet, near metal objects, or close to other electronic devices, as this can weaken the signal and cause your device to lose connection.
Walls and coverage in larger homes
Wi-Fi signal is affected by walls, and your device may lose connection if the signal becomes too weak by the time it reaches you. This is especially common in larger apartments or homes with multiple rooms, where the signal must pass through several walls to reach your device.
Extending your Wi-Fi coverage
If you live in a larger apartment or home with multiple rooms and walls, a Wi-Fi Repeater may be needed to maintain a stable connection throughout your home. You can order a Wi-Fi Repeater directly from My Account.
Use a wired connection for fixed devices
For fixed equipment such as a TV, computer, or games console, we recommend connecting via an Ethernet cable using one of the 4 LAN ports available on the box. A wired connection is more stable and reliable, and is not affected by Wi-Fi interference or coverage issues.
Quick checks
Use the right cable and port. Use a new-generation Ethernet cable (Cat6 or Cat6e) and connect it to one of the 4 black LAN ports on the back of the box, numbered 1 to 4.
Check the connection directly. If possible, connect your device directly to the Fibre Box (without going through your own router or switch) to see if the issue persists. If the connection is stable this way, the issue is likely coming from your own home network setup rather than the Fibre Box.
Avoid connecting another router after the Fibre Box. Connecting a second router in a "router-to-router" setup can cause an unstable connection.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, please continue below.
Advanced troubleshooting (for home networks with routers, switches, or manual IP configuration)
10 Gb LAN port
The 10 Gb (silver) port is limited to your subscription's maximum speed of 2.5 Gb. You need a compatible device supporting up to 2.5 Gb to benefit from this speed. Connecting a standard 1 Gb device to this port can cause an unstable connection.
Standard devices should use one of the 4 standard LAN ports (1–4) instead.
Personal network equipment (switches, routers)
If you have your own switch or additional network equipment and are experiencing issues, this may be caused by incorrect cabling or a network loop in your setup.
Duplicate IP addresses
If you use static IP addresses instead of automatic (DHCP) assignment, make sure no two devices on your network share the same IP address. Duplicate IP addresses can cause connection drops and instability. We recommend using automatic DHCP IP assignment from the Fibre Box, which is the default setting for all devices unless manually changed.
Configuration
You can connect to the administration console of your Post Internet & TV Box from any computer, smartphone, or tablet, using a wired or wireless connection. If connecting via Wi-Fi, please ensure your device is connected to the Fibre Box Wi-Fi.
The login details for the administration console are printed on the label underneath the box. We strongly recommend taking a photo of the label before connecting the fibre cable, to avoid having to move or handle the Fibre Box unnecessarily afterwards.
Open a web browser and enter 192.168.1.1, then press Enter.
Please note that the username, "admin", is case-sensitive.
Once connected, you can change the default password to a personalised one in the box's configuration menu.
From the admin console, you can also change the Wi-Fi settings, activate the Guest Wi-Fi, or change network preferences.
Advanced Wi-Fi and network settings should be changed carefully, as incorrect settings may cause serious network instability and poor performance.
Open the admin console (instructions in the FAQ).
Click the "Connected Devices" menu at the top of the screen.
You will see the Wi-Fi devices, Ethernet devices, and phones connected to the Fibre Box.
Restarting your Fibre Box
To restart your Post Internet & TV, simply unplug the power cable for 10 seconds. Plug it back in and wait 2–3 minutes for a full restart cycle.
We recommend restarting the Fibre Box once a month.
Resetting the Fibre Box
To reset the Fibre Box, locate the small hole on the back of the box, near the power button. Use a paperclip or similar pointed object and press the reset switch for at least 10 seconds. Wait 2–3 minutes for a full restart cycle.
Note: after a reset, the Fibre Box will start up with factory settings. The default admin password (on the label) will be required to open the console, and the Wi-Fi name and password will revert to the defaults printed on the Wi-Fi card.
No, by default all Post Internet & TV customers are assigned a private IPv6 address.
You cannot access your home network equipment from the internet.
