Install

You can skip this step if your Post Internet & TV connection worked before.

When your services become active, you will receive an email. Check your inbox, including the spam/junk folder. You can also verify the activation status of your line in My Account.

On the requested activation date, look for the email containing the activation date (including in the spam/junk folder). If you did not specify a date and provided an OTO ID, activation may take up to 20 days. Without an OTO ID, activation may take up to 5 weeks; in this case, you should have received an email confirming a technician's visit.

If you have not received the email with the activation date or the technician's appointment, please contact us on 0800 701 801.

If your home has internal network cabling with a multimedia (or distribution) cabinet, this cabinet is often located at the entrance of the home. You can place your Fibre Box inside the multimedia cabinet or outside it.

We recommend placing the Fibre Box inside the multimedia cabinet, particularly to connect it to the home network cabling.

If the multimedia cabinet is large enough to accommodate the Fibre Box and proper ventilation can be ensured, place the Fibre Box inside it.

Then connect:
1. The Fibre Box's power supply to a power outlet.
2. The optical cable to the optical outlet located in the multimedia cabinet, using the port assigned to Post Internet & TV (the port number is indicated in the email and SMS confirming activation of your Post Internet & TV services).

Please refer to the installation video for more details (video soon available).

Note: if the Fibre Box is placed inside a multimedia cabinet, the Wi-Fi signal will be weakened. We therefore recommend extending the Wi-Fi range with a Wi-Fi Box or Wi-Fi Booster, which can be ordered from My Account, in the Subscription menu.

If you decide to install the Fibre Box outside the multimedia cabinet, take care not to pinch the fibre cable in the cabinet door.

Central location: install your Fibre Box in a central location in your home to ensure the best Wi-Fi coverage. Avoid placing it near water sources, mirrors, or metal objects, as these materials interfere with Wi-Fi signals.

Elevated position: ideally 1–1.5 m above the floor — not on the floor or high up on top of a cabinet, as the Wi-Fi signal spreads better sideways and slightly downward. Orient the LEDs to face the room, so you can easily check the status of the box.

Position the Fibre Box vertically.

  • Handle with care.
  • Do not touch the cable ends after unplugging.
  • Do not leave cable ends unplugged; keep them connected to the OTO and the Fibre Box.
  • Do not clean the cable.
  • Do not bend the connectors.
  • Do not pinch or knot the cable.
