1.Do I have to cancel my old subscription myself?

Yes: when you subscribe to Post Internet & TV, your old subscription is not automatically cancelled.

Activation of your Post Internet & TV subscription may even sometimes be blocked until your current subscription has been cancelled.

2.When do I have to cancel my old subscription?

This depends on the contractual terms and conditions with your provider, in particular:

  • your contract start date;
  • any minimum contract term;
  • your notice period (or cancellation period).

Most providers apply a minimum contract term of 24 months, with a 2-month notice period (for the end of a month).

You will find this information in your contract, your customer account or a recent invoice.

My Optical plug

If you know your OTO-ID, go to your customer account (Subscriptions → Internet) and enter the number displayed on your OTO outlet.
If you don't know or can't find your OTO-ID, please reply to the email "Your request to Post Internet & TV".
Kindly note that this number is mandatory in order to activate your fibre-optic connection.

If you cancel your Post Internet & TV order before your services are activated, you will be charged an amount of CHF 499.95.

Activation of my service

The activation time for Post Home services depends on your situation.

You have a fibre-optic outlet (OTO): if it is correctly connected, your services can be activated within 10 working days. If not, a technician will contact you to finalise the installation; you will be informed as soon as your order has been processed.

You do not have a fibre-optic outlet (OTO): the time required to install one varies between 4 and 12 weeks, depending on the situation, from the start of processing your order.

We therefore recommend waiting for the installation of your fibre-optic outlet before terminating your services with your current operator, to avoid any loss of service.

During the activation of your Post Internet & TV connection, you will receive several emails informing you about the status of your order. You will also receive a consignment number by email, allowing you to track the delivery on the Swiss Post website.
You can also check the delivery status of your equipment in My Account → Subscriptions.

Once your order has been completed and validated, the activation date will be communicated to you by email. If you cannot find the email in your inbox, please check your spam folder.
You can also follow the activation status in My Account → Subscriptions.
